Shaws bridge, giants ring loop walk, Belfast

Starting at shaws bridge we will walk to minnowburn, then turn in to Giants ring. Through giants ring, down into Edenderry village back to the tow path, cross gilchrist bridge and along the tow path tk Rosies lock. Rosie lock is a lively spot by the weir to stop for a break before heading back to shaws bridge.

Start time: 10am.

****car park is small and can be very busy, arrive early to ensure you get a spot. Minnowburn carpark currently closed****

Time and distance: approx 5 miles, 2 1/2 hours

The route, mostly tow paths. 2 fields that can be muddy, 1 country road to cross, bridge (has steps), stiles and kissing gates.

What to bring: Footwear should be suitable for those muddy sections. Coat, drink and snack.

Dogs welcome please bring their bags and be responsible.

There are no toilets on the walk, 1 coffee van
