Thank you to our lovely member Amy who has offered to run a navigation day in the South lakes. THIS WILL BE LIMITED TO 10 PLACES.

Meet point Tilberthwaite car park (NY306009) it’s just north of Coniston, let’s go for a 10am start. As in ready to start the walk at 10. I will be there from 9.30.

It will be a introduction to navigation for those who have some experience of walking on the hills as part of a group and would like to develop skills to either go out alone or lead a walk. Will be relaxed and friendly and of course finish in a cafe with coffee and a cake.

It will be tailored to who ever turns up but topics will cover how to use maps, how to plan a route/walk, timings, pacing, using a compass etc

People will need warm clothes and full water proofs, walking boots, water and food for the day and carried in a rucsac (I have some kit that can be borrowed). Also an OL6 South West Lakes map 1:25000 or similar of the area and a compass (again I can provide if needed). Personal medication and a small first aid kit if they have one. I will bring group first aid and emergency kit.

Should be off the hill for 16:00.
