Meet, greet, chat, slow & steady

Do you watch the beautiful pictures on Facebook of the Lake District National Park and wish that you could see some of those views for yourself?

• Perhaps you don’t know where or how to start?
• Maybe even feel a bit out of your comfort zone?
• Don’t feel fit enough or not sure what to wear?

This walk may just be for you on Monday, 8th May.

Many ladies will come alone but it doesn’t take long to fall in with the chatter as we bimble along!

Let me show you the walk, share the views and just maybe, you can come back and do this walk alone or with friends and family in the future.

This walk is designed to introduce you to the Cumbrian Fells and ensure you reach the summit which I anticipate will take 3-4 hours for the full round trip as our pace will be slow and steady.

This is classed as a relatively low level walk with easy terrain to walk on. This walk will deliver BIG on the views as we will see the full length of Derwentwater and the expanse of the Skiddaw Range. Skiddaw is deemed to be oldest mountain range in the National park dating back some 500 million years.

Our route will be a 7km maximum, with ascent and descent of 294m.

We will not be rushing; we will stop for plenty of photos, chatter on route, take our time to take in the wonderful views, and of course, thoroughly enjoying our lunch on the summit with a smashing view to match.

This is typically known as a family walk from Keswick and we will see on route a whole range of people seeking out wonderful views over Keswick and Derwentwater. As it is a Bank Holiday, it will be busy and parking will be precious so we will start from Keswick where the parking options are more plentiful.

Clothing wise – a good pair of walking shoes, boots or solid trainers will suffice! If it’s raining, water proofs are a must along with a warm jacket. It will be May but anything can happen with the weather!

……. And in case you didn’t know, Latrigg is a Wainwright so you will be able to say “I’ve done a Wainwright!”. The famous Alfred Wainwright, named 214 of the Cumbria Fells, not based on what was highest but on what he considered to be some of the best views in the National Park, so there will be plenty others for you to visit that stay under the 500m range and generally very accessible!!

Please just pop me over a message.

Meeting place will be outside of Costa Coffee, Station Street, Keswick, CA12 5HF @ 10.00am
