Pikes tones of Rivington – Bolton

Are you looking for a longer walk at the weekend?

This walk will be 9-10 miles. It is uneven terrain of tracks and footpaths and could be wet and muddy. I expect to walk at about 2-2.5 miles per hour and should take 4-5 hours.

It is a circular walk from Rivington Hall Drive which is the long road between the Top Barn and the Lower Barn. Car parking is free but it can get very busy in the area. more car parking spots are available in the area.

We will start our walk at 10.30am from outside the Visitor Centre which has free public toilets.

There are various cafes at the end of our walk where we may want to finish with a hot drink and/or cake!! Optional but nice.

Sorry no dogs allowed to this event

Please bring a packed lunch and plenty of drinks for yourself throughout the day. Dress appropriate for the weather but bring waterproof jacket and overtrousers just in case!! Hiking boots or good strong, sturdy waterproof trail shoes will also be needed.

If you have a change of plan and are unable to make it on the day please can you let me know so we are not waiting on the day for anyone that can’t attend, thank you.

Just a reminder this is a meetup led by volunteers for like minded people. Therefore you must be competent in your own ability to walk and your own level of fitness. You will be responsible for your own health and safety. We would also ask that if you have any signs of illness that you do not attend on the day.
