Dunsop Valley, Forest of Bowland 8 mile walk, Lancashire

We’d love for you to join us on a stunning 8 mile walk taking in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty through Dunsop Bridge in the Forest of Bowland, Lancashire.

This walk has it all….initially following the river through the beautiful Dunsop valley on good flat paths for 2.5 miles then continuing on undulating trails to circle Middle Knoll fell with one short steep ascent (5-10mins) before looping back through the valley. The route around the fell can be muddy and wet underfoot so boots are definitely recommended. There is a straightforward option to turn back at 2.5 miles for anyone who prefers a shorter completely flat 5 mile walk.

We will meet at 10am, and expect the walk to take around 4 hours including a picnic lunch stop.

The meeting point is at Dunsop Bridge public car park, postcode: BB7 3BB. What3words: permanent.rebounder.diary There is a charge of £2.60 for all day parking and public toilets available. (You may want to bring cash for the car park as the card reader wasn’t working when I did the reccy). If you can offer car sharing, please post in the event.

There is a cafe available at the end of the walk for hot drinks, snacks and cakes!

Many members attend on their own and if this is your first event with LHW then be assured that you will be given a warm welcome.  So that we can focus on getting to know each other, the walk is not dog friendly on this occassion. This is a volunteer led event and therefore everyone joins at their own responsibility.

I hope you can join us and I look forward to sharing this lovely walk with you. Please click ‘Going’ on the event in the Lancashire groups events tab so we know who to expect and keep an eye on the Events page before the walk in case of any updates.
