Black Chew Head and Black Hill Walk

**Event is now full, if you would like to be added to the waiting list then please let me know**

This is a challenging walk to Black Chew Head (Highest point in Greater Manchester) and Black Hill walking a section of the Pennine Way and Moorland.

The route planned is 10 miles with about 800 metres of ascent and could take us 6-7 hours. Depending on weather this may change but I’ll decide on the day. The pace will be slow and steady and we will walk as a group at all times.

There are some steep ascents and descents, some of the route is not on a path, you will have to cross some water, it’s very muddy in places and there are a few rocky sections. Due to terrain I would highly recommend wearing walking boots/shoes.

The event is limited to 14 people due to the number of carpark spaces and it’s now full. Please don’t add yourself as going but let me know in the comments and I can add you to the waiting list.

We will meet at Crowden Carpark –

The carpark is free and does have public toilets to use.

We will be leaving the carpark at 8.30am so please arrive in plenty of time to get yourself ready for the walk.

You will need to bring food for the whole day and plenty of water.

Sorry no dogs allowed to this event.

If you have a change of plan and are unable to make it on the day please can you let me know so we are not waiting on the day for anyone that cant attend, thank you.

Just a reminder this is a meetup led by volunteers for like minded people. Therefore you must be competent in your own ability to walk/swim and your own level of fitness. You will be responsible for your own health and safety. We would also ask that if you have any signs of illness that you do not attend on the day.
