Arnside Knott and coastal walk
Arnside Knott and Coastal walk, Cumbria- *ACCESSIBLE BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT*
We’d love for you to join us on a stunning 12km (7.5 mile) walk taking in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty around Arnside. I only discovered this area a few years ago and can’t believe how lovely it is! This walk has it all….coast, woodland and stunning hilltop views. It also happens to finish at a pub in case anyone would like to stay for a well earned refreshment at the end!
Our route will take us through Middlebarrow Wood, up Arnside Knott and along the coastal trail. Arnside Knott is 159metres, so high enough to give some lovely views and give a little bit of a climb without being too strenuous.
We will meet from 10.30am at Arnside Train Station, departing at 10.45am and expect the walk to take around 4.5 hours including a picnic lunch stop. There is a train that arrives from Preston and Lancaster at 10.31am and regular return trains in the afternoon. Parking is also available in Arnside although you may want to arrive early to get a space. If anyone is travelling by car and would like to offer a car share, please post on the event page in the Lancashire LHW group. The station post code is LA50HQ and what3words location is both.sharpness.metals
Many members attend on their own and if this is your first event with LHW then be assured that you will be given a warm welcome. So that we can focus on getting to know each other, the walk is not dog friendly on this occassion. This is a volunteer led event and therefore everyone joins at their own responsibility.
I hope you can join us and I look forward to sharing this lovely walk with you. Please click ‘Going’ on the event in the Lancashire Group or get in touch with us through insta so I know who to expect and keep an eye on the Events page before the walk in case of any updates.
