Current Adventures

Love Her Wild organises all-female expeditions. A mix of smaller weekend and bigger ambitious adventures both in the UK and overseas. We like to set challenges that are a little different to get us off the track and to provide a more authentic experience while improving outdoor skills in the process. We also organise a handful of conservation-focused expeditions each year because looking after the planet is important to us.

Over anything else, our expeditions put a focus on being a team and having fun. The trips are friendly and relaxed. Sure, we want to reach our goal…but more than that we want to laugh, build friendships and confidence.

Don’t worry about coming alone as most women do. We look forward to seeing you on an adventure soon!

****Is the expedition you want to do full? Let me know you are interested and I’ll add you to a waiting list in case someone pulls out or we organise another one – [email protected]

Previous Adventures

There have been dozens of get-togethers, hikes, adventures and campouts organised by the Love Her Wild community to bring together like-minded women in the outdoors.

Here are some of our previous expeditions….

The Woods

10 women who’d never met before and with varying abilities came together to spend 5 days living in the woods with just basic survival gear. Adventures don’t always have to be about going far or fast. Paddle Pickup; Coast 2 Coast

17 women with a passion for tackling the plastic pollution in our oceans, took on this world first expedition. Led by Erin Bastian, they kayaked the width of the UK via our waterways starting in Bristol and finishing in London. Along the way they picked up over 3,500 pieces of plastic pollution from the water while making quite a stir in the media…. – Short film made about our journeyBritish Canoe article Guardian article on expedition leaders: Bex Band & Erin BastianSummary from Jodie, a team member Feature in the Adventure Magazine

Paddle Pickup; Length of Wales

Seeing the impact that the first Paddle Pickup had in inspiring others to rethink their plastic usage, Love Her Wild returned for round 2! This time kayaking the full length of Wales. The team had to navigate dozens of locks and travelled up to 20km daily. By the end of the expedition the team had picked up 5,000 pieces of plastic pollution and raised hundreds of pounds for plastic fighting charities.

The Everest Adventure

The challenge – to climb the height of Everest in 5 days.Over 100 women applied to be part of this adventure. The final team of 6 were chosen not on their experience but on what this adventure meant to them and on their passion to inspire more women to get outdoors. Things didn’t exactly go to plan! Love Her Wild Weekend 2018

The first of our annual Wild Weekend! Talks were delivered on all sorts of subjects from mental health to reducing plastic usage. There were bushcraft and navigation workshops alongside daily yoga and walks and a Shextreme film popup.

Arctic Norway Expedition

5 women from the Love Her Wild community attempted to be the first all-female team to cross the Finnmark Plateau from North to South. Hit with tough weather and -32 temperatures, the team fell short of their target. The views of the horizon and northern lights and the comradery the team took away meant this was far from a failure!

12 Hours Wild & Solo

The ladies had set their challenge – to wild camp for a night on their own for the first time. The team of 8 spent the day hiking together before going off alone to find their own isolated camping spots.

Lady Anne’s Walk

The Lady Anne’s walk is a 100-mile journey steeped with history. A Love Her Wild team took on the hike over 5 days, carrying all their own supplies and wild camping each night.

Winter skills in the Pyrenees

A fun week in the Pyrenees learning all sorts of winter skills to boost confidence for bigger expeditions. The team covered avalanche safety, crampon skills, building snow holes and even attempted a summit of Aneto.

Stok Kangri

A fantastic team of 16 headed to North India for a 2-week expedition climbing to the 6,000+ summit on Stok Kangri. Although flooding and snowfall prevented a summit, the team had an amazing time and also contributed to scientific research collecting data from the glacier and keeping diarys to help a study on women in extreme environments.

Negev Expedition

This tight-knit Love Her Wild team took on a 4-day hike in the Negev desert in Israel. A vast place where very few tourists venture! Either side of the expedition the team also fit in a visit to Tel Aviv, the Dead Sea and Jerusalem.
